Deliverable 7.1 - Evaluation of exiting trustworthiness seals and labels
The objective of the present study is to summarize existing certification schemes, labels, seals and trustmark related to trust in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products and services. It covers a total of 24 schemes, analyzed individually against a set of 23 criteria designed to represent the scheme’s general identity, functioning, positive and negative aspects.
The research process encountered several obstacles and knows several limitations. First, a general lack of transparency on the part of scheme operators resulting in difficulties to access essential information regarding the schemes made the data collection process difficult.
Information requests were often left unanswered. Then, the language barrier and resources constraints necessarily make for a non-exhaustive inventory, though it can be considered
representative of the market in 2017.
